CHERRIES have introduced categorisation of fixtures into their structure for ticket pricing ahead of the new season.

The club had already announced last month season ticket prices would rise for the first time in eight years, by around eight per cent.

This latest move will see most non-season ticket holders paying more for their tickets than they did last season, albeit with some exceptions, where some games will now be slightly cheaper.

Seven Premier League fixtures will be classed as ‘category A’ games, which means tickets will be most expensive to see Cherries face Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur or Newcastle United.

Category B fixtures come against Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Nottingham Forest and West Ham United.

There are also four category C matches, against Wolverhampton Wanderers and newly-promoted trio Luton Town, Burnley and Sheffield United.

In 2022-23, there was a blanket pricing structure for every top-flight match.

For adults, that saw prices range from £32 to £45, depending on which part of the ground you were sitting.

For 2023-24, prices will be different depending on opponent.

For category A fixtures, prices will range from £37 to £53, while category B will cost between £34 and £50.

Prices then drop for the four category C games, to below what they would have cost last season. Their prices range from £28 to £44.

Main Stand centre is the most expensive part of the ground to buy a ticket, with the family, North and South Stands the cheapest.

The sliding scale of prices is also evident for concessions, Junior Cherries, wheelchair users and the newly-created category of ‘ambulant disabled’, which covers a wide range of disabilities.

Many top-flight clubs have not yet made available their single ticket prices for the 2023-24 campaign.

Chelsea have announced their prices, they too operate on a category basis.

Not including restricted view areas, prices for category AA fixtures range from £48 to £76 for adults, dropping to between £39 to £61 for their lowest category games.

Bournemouth Echo:

Arsenal (above) too operate category systems. Their prices range from £103 as the most expensive standard adult category A ticket down to £28.50 for cheapest category C games.

Liverpool (below) appear to offer a standard structure for all their games. Aside from special £9 prices for juniors and some locals, the adult ticket prices range from £30 up to £60 per match.

Bournemouth Echo:

Perhaps of a more comparable level to Cherries would be Wolves, although their figures for 2023-24 are not yet readily available.

For 2022-23, they charged adults between £35 to £60 for category A games, £33 to £50 for category B and £25 to £37.50 for category C.

Bournemouth Echo:

Also in the announcement of this year’s ticket prices, Cherries have given dates when tickets will go on sale for all their league fixtures, aiming to be five to six weeks before the match itself.

The club are also introducing ‘Cherries Tuesdays’ in a bid to help fans gain more home ticket points. Any available tickets for games will be released on Tuesdays for fans to try and snap up.
