THREE local Southern League sides have been handed contrasting draws in the early rounds of the FA Trophy – with Hamworthy United handed home advantage as both Bashley and Wimborne Town face two away trips if they are to reach the final round of qualifying.
Hamworthy United will host fellow Southern League Division One South outfit Melksham Town in the first qualifying round, with the victors going on to enjoy home comforts against either Willand Rovers or Larkhall Athletic.
However, there is the possibility that Hammers will stage the tie at their temporary home of the Bob Lucas Stadium, Hamworthy currently ground sharing with National South neighbours Weymouth as they await the installation of a new stand at theCounty Ground.
First round qualifying ties will be played out the weekend of Saturday, September 9, with no replays, meaning if scores are level after 90 minutes the tie will be decided on penalties.
Bashley visit Evesham United in a bid to set up another away day, either to Cribbs or Bideford.
Wimborne Town are also on their travels, traveling down to Exmouth Town with a potential trip to either Kidlington or North Leigh the reward for victory.
The second round of qualifying will be staged the weekend of Saturday, September 23.
Victorious sides in the first round of qualifying will earn £1,500, with teams knocked out picking up £400.
Teams earning victory in the second round will be awarded £2,250, with sides falling at that hurdle earning £575.
