ROGER Cedeno hit a rare 'grand slam' whilst competing for Bournemouth Bears over the weekend.
Triple-A Bears were back on the diamond, recording a 14-0 win and loss 8-6 loss away to the London Metros in the British Baseball Federation league.
Pitching ace Jose Lopez struck out 12 of the Metros in a big-hitting, big-scoring game one.
Lopez has yet to lose a game this year, fuelled by incendiary offensive output from his team.
Catcher Cedeno hit two home runs in the second inning alone. The second was crushed over the left field fence with a runner on every base - making it a rare 'grand slam', although it is Cedeno's second grand slam in two weeks.
The London team had no answer for the Bears' bats, and the game finished in the sixth inning.
In game two, London pitcher Nao Matsushita tamed the Bears, giving up three earned runs to the visitors.
Hampered by injuries and defensive errors, the Bears allowed the Metros to take a five-run lead.
A spirited rally in the sixth inning with singles from Ben Hyde, Daniel Myrmell and Cedeno was not enough to close the gap, and the Bears fell short of the home team with an 8-6 loss.
The Triple-A Bears remain top of the league standing with 14 wins and four losses.
They return to London on July 30 to face the Croydon Pirates, while the Single-A side travel to the home of the Cardiff Merlins this Sunday.
