ANDONI Iraola was pleased with Andrei Radu’s first showing in a Cherries shirt at the weekend.

Romanian international Radu came off the bench during the second half of Cherries’ 3-1 friendly defeat at home to Atalanta, having only completed his move from Italian giants Inter Milan just two days prior.

26-year-old Radu arrives on an initial loan deal, although Cherries hold the option of making the move permanent for a reported £7million.

The goalkeeper conceded once, Cherries frailties at set pieces exposed yet again as a free-kick led to Emmanuel Latte Lath firing home.

However,  Radu largely had little to do, with the majority of Atalanta’s second period attacks ending in wayward shots.

Speaking after the Atalanta game, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “It was difficult for him because he had been training with us for just one session.

“It is not easy to go straightaway into a game in your own stadium.

“But I think he was overall good. He was good with the ball at his feet.

“He didn’t have to save too much I think.

“But the sensation is that he also speaks all the languages, it is always easier for him to adapt.”
