ADAM Roynon was taken to hospital last night, after crashing out of Poole Pirates’ meeting at Edinburgh Monarchs.
The Poole reserve suffered a nasty spill, when the bike of Edinburgh’s Dayle Wood collided into him in heat two of the contest at Armadale.
Roynon, 34, required medical treatment on track for a suspected shoulder injury.
He withdrew from the rest of the meeting, which was subsequently abandoned after a member of the media was injured following a bizarre incident in heat six.
Edinburgh rider Craig Cook fell, his bike flying up and over the air fence. It connected with a lighting pole on the corner, also injuring a photographer who was working on that bend. The member of the media was taken away from the stadium by air ambulance and police were called to investigate.

Discussing Roynon’s injury, Poole co-team boss Gary Havelock told the British Speedway Network: “Heat two, Max Clegg actually touched the tapes off gate four.
“Adam had made the start, but the referee called it back and get Clegg another chance.
“Adam missed the start and now he’s going to the hospital, unfortunately.”
Pirates promoter Danny Ford told the Daily Echo: “Adam’s going to head off to hospital and get a scan and see what’s gone on there.”
Pirates are due back in SGB Championship action tonight, away at Berwick Bandits (7pm).
Roynon will not feature in the meeting, with Lee Complin drafted in to guest in his place at Shielfield Park.
