EDINBURGH Monarchs have released a short statement, after their meeting with Poole Pirates was abandoned last night.
Pirates led 21-9 at Armadale, before the meeting was called to a halt after a lengthy delay following an incident in heat six, where Craig Cook’s bike cleared the safety fence.
A statement from the Monarchs read: “Both stadium ambulances attended the scene and an individual has been taken to hospital. We will provide more details when we can.
“The club would like to thank fans for their patience and understanding at this time.”

On Saturday afternoon, another statement read: "Following the events of Friday night, the club would like to issue the following statement.
"After a racing incident involving a bike and track staff member, it was necessary to halt the meeting.
"The member of the track staff is currently in hospital receiving care. Our sincere thoughts are with this individual and all at the club offer best wishes for a full recovery."
The meeting was being streamed live on the British Speedway Network.
They did not show a replay of the incident during the coverage.
Taking to social media, the channel’s directors Ben Duffill and Martin Hunter wrote: “We are aware that several people are reaching out to us about (Friday's) stream from Edinburgh via email regarding refunds and the availability of an on-demand version of the stream.
“Please be aware that a serious incident occurred during this meeting that has required our assistance and has had to take priority, so customer support will be attended to at the earliest opportunity.
“Due to the serious nature of (Friday’s) incident, we will not be making an on-demand version of (Friday’s) stream available out of respect to those involved.
“Please be patient with us, but we can assure anybody who has bought a stream that refunds will be made in accordance with our refund policy.
“We will process these as soon as we can. We would also like to take the opportunity to send our very best wishes to those involved in (Friday’s) incident, which has been very upsetting for us and those who witnessed it.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
