CHERRIES’ EFL Cup trip to Swansea City has been confirmed to be staged on Tuesday, August 29.
Andoni Iraola’s men had been given the trek to south Wales in the draw for the second round, with kick off slated for 7.30pm.
Despite the draw being regionalised, split into a northern and southern section, Cherries’ last two fixtures at this stage of the competition had been away trips to Norwich City.
Under Gary O’Neil last term, Cherries reached the round of 16, falling to former manager Eddie Howe and his Newcastle team that reached the final of the competition.
Swansea City defeated Northampton Town 3-0 in the first round to advance and meet Cherries.
Cherries’ last trip to the Liberty Stadium was a pulsating draw that saw them roar back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3, Kieffer Moore coming off the bench to grab his first two goals for Cherries.
