ANDONI Iraola remained coy when asked about the potential arrival of Tyler Adams from Leeds United, stating that he preferred not to talk about other club’s players.

The Daily Echo understands Cherries have had a bid accepted by Leeds for American midfielder Adams, believed to be in the region of an initial £23million with potential add-ons.

Leeds only signed Adams from Leipzig last summer for £20million, with the US national team captain on his way to undergo a medical with Cherries.

Whilst Iraola confirmed that Cherries were closing in on a new signing, he urged patience until the deal was completed.

However, Iraola did share his thoughts on Adams.

Iraola said: “I think it's a player that right now is not our player.

“So we have to wait, I think that you know that the club is working towards signing someone there in the midfield, but we have to wait until everything is complete.

“He's a really good player.

“He has performed in the Champions League, national team experience.

“But I don't want to go too far because right now it's not our player.”

However, Iraola did share that after another signing in midfield, it was unlikely Cherries would do further business until there had been outgoings.

He continued: “I think overall we are really happy with the squad.

“The area where we are looking forward to sign someone is this midfield because right now with a couple of injuries we also have we may be shorter there.

“But apart from that I think we are good, probably still a long time till the market ends so probably there can be some changes, some players leaving and we have to replace them.

“But we are not especially looking with the same need that we are looking in the midfield area.”

Adams is currently sidelined by a hamstring issue, and as such, even if a deal was completed in time for Cherries’ trip to Liverpool tomorrow, the midfielder would play no part in the fixture.
