ANDONI Iraola believes Cherries’ first two fixtures were “completely different”, stating that he thought there were “good things and bad things from both.”
Cherries began the campaign with a 1-1 draw with West Ham at Vitality Stadium, before travelling to Anfield and losing 3-1 to Liverpool.
From the off Cherries looked to press Liverpool high, achieving instant success when Antoine Semenyo powered home after his teammates had won the ball just outside the box.
However, it did not last, Liverpool answering back via Luis Diaz, Mo Salah, and Diogo Jota.
After the West Ham game, Iraola had highlighted that he thought Cherries were improved once they started to play more directly in the second half.
Asked if he thought if it was a better performance than the opening day, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “I think it was a completely different game, completely different.
“The first day we were more in control of the ball but we were not fast enough in the buildup.
“We were quite slow moving the ball, especially first half (against West Ham).
“Today we were with less time on the ball but we were more direct.
“I think we created quite a lot of chances considering we're playing in this stadium.
“Different games, good things and bad things from both.”
