CHERRIES boss Andoni Iraola referred the yellow card shown to Alisson and the dismissal of Alexis Mac Allister in defeat at Liverpool as “orange” cards.

Goalkeeper Alisson was a chaotic figure in the opening stages of Liverpool’s eventual 3-1 victory over Cherries on Saturday, the Brazilian flying into a challenge on Jaidon Anthony after a clumsy first touch allowed the ball to squirm away.

There was an argument that with the goalkeeper leaving an empty net behind him, and the nature of the challenge that there was a possibility for a dismissal.

He was only shown a yellow card by match official Thomas Bramall, but Liverpool were left incensed by the decision to send Mac Allister off in the second period.

The Argentinian arrived late into a tackle with Ryan Christie, the World Cup winner adjudged to have used his studs dangerously.

Asked for his take on the yellow card shown to Alisson, Iraola replied: “I don't know.

“For me, even the red card was more kind of orange.

“This situation (Alisson’s tackle) was kind of orange.

“They (the referees) had a difficult decision.

“I understand the referee these decisions, because they were not easy decisions.”

Cherries return to action this weekend, when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Vitality Stadium on Saturday, August 26.
