ANDONI Iraola confirmed Lloyd Kelly missed this afternoon’s trip to Brentford due to uncertainty over his future on transfer deadline day.

The Daily Echo understands Tottenham Hotspur tabled a £20million offer for the 24-year-old on Friday, which was rejected.

Although Kelly is heading into the final year of his deal at Cherries, the club turned down the bid as they felt it came too late in the day to find a replacement.

Kelly did not travel up with the squad to London on Friday and was not part of the matchday squad for Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Brentford.

Asked if Kelly was left out due to the situation with Spurs on deadline day: “Yesterday was a difficult day for us and I suppose for a lot of teams, because there were some situations where players were changing teams from one hour to the other.

“It’s difficult to fully focus in the game on the next day.

“We had the issue around the transfer at the end that happened with Jaidon (Anthony), also with Kieff (Moore) there were things going on, also with Lloyd Kelly.

“We needed players really, really focused for the game today. That’s the reason (he was left out).”
