BOSS Daniel Farke says Jaidon Anthony was “desperate” to make his deadline-day switch to Leeds United.
Anthony has joined the Whites on a season-long loan deal, which sees Luis Sinisterra heading in the opposite direction.
The move represents a step down in level for Anthony, as he looks to secure another promotion from the Championship, having played a key part in Cherries’ successful campaign in 2021-22.
Discussing the transfer swap, Leeds boss Farke said, in quotes reported by LeedsLive: “Well, you know that I'm always open and honest.
“I praised Luis more or less since my arriving and we spoke about what a player he is and that he can be an outstanding, dominating player on this level.
“If I would tell you I'm happy that Luis is away, no-one would believe that.
“So, obviously, we tried everything in order to keep him but we also spoke quite open and honest about him. His contractual situation was complicated.
“I won't go too much into details but in the end sometimes you have to accept also a tough reality.
“The reality is that we have to accept that he went this way and is out at Bournemouth right now.
“Then it's also to accept such a tough reality in this moment and to adapt to it and I have to praise the key people in our club, because sometimes you feel in such a situation when you lose such a crucial player just with a few hours to go, you can feel sorry for yourself.”

Farke added: “With Jaidon Anthony, I think we found the best possible option because he's a proven Championship player, he’s delivered with many good performances for Bournemouth on this level.
“He has started the first games on Premier League level and has played so many games in Premier League level, brilliant lad, also really desperate to be here.
“He's still an age where he can improve.
“You can't compare him with Luis because he was a proven international player and Jaidon is still young, we want to improve and want to work with him but he has also lots of quality and lots of potential to work with him.
“Right now the reality is Jaidon is in and we are all happy that we have him and it's the same with all the other guys, thank God the transfer window has closed.
“We can concentrate on football, we can concentrate on the work and I think Jaidon will definitely play also a pretty important role for us.”
Anthony will hope to make his Leeds debut away at Millwall after the international break.
