FORMER Cherries boss Harry Redknapp heaped praise on Lloyd Kelly, following the defender’s performance against Chelsea.

The 24-year-old returned to the side and helped Cherries keep a clean sheet with an impressive display in the 0-0 draw.

His performance saw him named in Redknapp’s team of the week, a regular feature as part of his role as a brand ambassador for BetVictor.

Discussing his selection of Kelly, Redknapp said: “I thought he put in an absolutely immense performance against Chelsea and showed why he’d been linked previously with a move away from the club.

“For me he is key for the Cherries moving forward.

“He’s a real talent that puts his heart and soul into it for the full game and he was one of the key reasons why Bournemouth came away with a deserved point in a hard fought 0-0.

“I really think the sky’s the limit for this lad.”

Kelly is into the final year of his contract at Vitality Stadium, Cherries turning down a £20million from Tottenham Hotspur for him on transfer deadline day.

Redknapp’s Premier League team of the week: Robert Sanchez, Tariq Lamptey, Lewis Dunk, Lloyd Kelly, Andy Robertson, Douglas Luiz, Leandro Trossard, Pascal Gross, Mo Salah, Julian Alvarez, Richarlison.
