ANDONI Iraola is expecting a much-changed Brighton side after their midweek European disappointment when Cherries travel to the Amex this Sunday (2pm).

The Seagulls’ debut in continental competition ended in a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Greek champions AEK Athens in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

It is just Brighton’s second defeat of the season, Roberto De Zerbi’s side sitting fifth in the Premier League after four wins from their first five league fixtures.

Asked if he was anticipating a response from Brighton on Sunday, Iraola responded: “At the end, they've made a lot of subs.

“They've changed a lot.

“The team between the Old Trafford game and the other night games for sure, they are going to change it for our game.

“I don’t think the physical side will be so important because they have a very good squad.

“They've done the changes, they performed well.

“You never know what you prefer when they play before your game.

“Whether they win, whether they lose. At the end, the game plan will not change.

“We know what they are going to try to do.

“We know what we are going to try to do also. So I don't think it's something important.”

Iraola was then asked if he watched the match which saw Brighton come equalise twice from the spot following set-piece goals, before Ezequiel Ponce’s winner six minutes from time.

“Yes of course, I watched it on TV,” he replied.

“I think they were in control of the game, they had the possession. It's true that they conceded two set pieces.

“These small details that get you out of the of the wins, but they are playing very well.

“I think they are deserving the wins.

“They are the team that has scored (the most) goals in the Premier League.

“Except the West Ham game, I think they've scored three or more every single game.

“So we have to be ready to defend well and also to make them think defensively.”
