ANDONI Iraola expressed his frustration at losing Lloyd Kelly to injury again after two “amazing” performances from the defender.
Kelly is set to be ruled out until after the October international break due to another calf issue.
The 24-year-old missed the start of the campaign due to a calf problem and limped off towards the end of Sunday’s 3-1 loss at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Kelly had impressed in that game, a week on from a standout performance on his return to the side against Chelsea.
“It’s not exactly the same problem, but it is frustrating because he was amazing in the last two games,” boss Iraola told the Daily Echo.
“He played so good against Chelsea and he played so good the other day (at Brighton), and now again to have this, I don’t think it’s going to be a long thing, but another stop and you have to reset again.
“Especially for him, I think it’s not easy, because he was feeling well, he played two very good games.
“But it is a chance also for other players to step up and make their point to keep starting.”
