ANDONI Iraola believed that there was a foul in the build-up to Everton’s third goal but stated he could have little complaints after his side lost 3-0 on Merseyside.
Stalwart Adam Smith was hauled to the ground by Amadou Onana in front of the dugouts at Goodison Park, with the hosts quickly moving the ball forward, Jack Harrison’s initial effort falling to Abdoulaye Doucoure to smash home and seal the result.
Cherries hardly looked like threatening during the encounter, with Everton cruising after goals from James Garner and Harrison in the first period.
Discussing the third goal, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “I think it is a clear foul, but it is the kind of foul that VAR cannot do anything.
“Normally they don’t overturn these decisions.
“It is a foul that the referee has to call. But it is true that it is 3-0, so I’m not going to complain too much.”
Cherries are now 19th in the Premier League table after eight games, with a total of three points.
It is their lowest points tally at this stage in a Premier League season, their previous low four points from their first eight at the beginning of the 2017-18 season.
After the October international break, Cherries return to action at Vitality Stadium with the visit of former boss Gary O’Neil and his Wolves side.
