BURNLEY midfielder Josh Cullen described the trip to Cherries as a “great opportunity for us to bounce back” after a resounding loss at Brentford.

Vincent Kompany’s Clarets sit in the relegation zone, a point and a place above Cherries.

The two clubs face off in what could prove to be a crucial contest at Vitality Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

Between them, the two clubs have mustered just one Premier League win this term – Burnley winning at Luton Town.

Kompany’s side stormed to the Championship title last season, but have so far struggled to adapt to life in the top flight.

Looking ahead to the game against Cherries, after Burnley’s 3-0 loss at Brentford, Cullen told the club’s website: “Every game’s important, but it’s a great opportunity for us to bounce back next week.

“That’s the good thing about football, there’s always the next week, the next game.

“We’ve got to stick together as a group, in what’s a difficult time at the moment.

“Obviously the dressing room’s not overly pleased with how we performed (at Brentford), but we need to stick together as a group, go again next week and do everything we can, like we always do, to get the win.”

The Republic of Ireland international added: “It’s football. You have ups and downs, highs and lows and it’s trying to keep that constant mindset that we keep doing what we believe in and what we know works for us.

“We’ve just got to keep going, it’s as simple as that. There’s no time to dwell on a bad result, especially at this level.

“We’ve got to pick ourselves up in training, be together as a squad, like we always are, and be ready to go to Bournemouth.”
