ANDONI Iraola says Marcos Senesi “can help us” as a holding midfielder, but does not see him as a “long-term” solution.
Iraola has a selection dilemma for Cherries’ Premier League clash against Burnley, following Lewis Cook’s red card in defeat to Wolves last time out.
With Tyler Adams also ruled out injured, Cherries are short of defensive-minded midfielders.
That has prompted discussion of the possibility for centre-back Marcos Senesi to step into the role, as he did at times during pre-season, and also late on in the loss to Liverpool in August.

Asked if he sees Senesi as an option to play in midfield this weekend, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “I don’t see him as a player that can play there for 10 or 12 games in a season.
“Maybe in some circumstances, some moments he can help us there, because especially on the ball he is good.
“He has the tactical sense.
“He played there for a couple of minutes against Liverpool that I remember and also in pre-season.
“But it is something that has to be just for one case, not long-term.”
Other midfield options for Iraola include Joe Rothwell, Gavin Kilkenny, Philip Billing and Alex Scott.
