ANDONI Iraola revealed work from analysts on Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford helped lead to Philip Billing’s stunning match-winning strike.

Trailing 1-0 to the Clarets, goals from Antoine Semenyo and Billing earned Cherries a 2-1 victory at Vitality Stadium.

The win, Iraola’s first in the league as boss, saw his side move out of the relegation zone.

Reflecting on Billing’s strike from around 40 yards, Iraola said: “The analysts were the first ones to talk about this.

“We talked during the week. We have given the info to the players.

“A lot of times it doesn’t happen (like that). But this time it is true we talked to the players, because Trafford is involved a lot in the build-up, touches a lot of balls outside the box.

“He is in very advanced positions. But at the end, you have to be there.

“The strike has to be good.

“Even if he was tired, because I was going to take him out, and we were going to do different changes.

“He made the right decision and scored a very valuable goal for us.”

Cherries return to action on Wednesday night, hosting Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, before heading to champions Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.
