ANDONI Iraola believes Cherries’ fans were “part of turning this game around” against Burnley, expressing his relief at sending them home happy.

Despite the winless start to the Premier League season, fans both at Vitality Stadium and on the road have regularly sung Iraola’s name.

Cherries finally got a win in the column at the 10th time of asking, coming from behind to beat Vincent Kompany’s Clarets 2-1, with goals from Antoine Semenyo and Philip Billing.

Asked how big a role the fans played in the win, head coach Iraola said: “Sometimes it is worse when you are not having the results and they still don’t whistle you.

“You feel worse, because you think 'I need to give the supporters a win and a good performance'.

“(On Saturday) I was really happy, because I think they deserved it and the players deserved it.

“After conceding so early, I think everyone stuck together, we didn’t change the gameplan.

“We had the personality to continue building up, not doing crazy things and I think the supporters have been part of turning this game around.”

Cherries return to action tomorrow night, welcoming Liverpool to Vitality Stadium in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup (7.45pm).
