FORMER Pirate Anders Rowe will continue riding in speedway’s top-flight, extending his stay with King’s Lynn Stars.
Dorset-born Rowe will take the ‘rising star’ berth, a new initiative created to ensure a pathway in the sport for upcoming talents.
Last term Rowe added rides at King’s Lynn to his Poole Pirate commitments midway through the campaign, clearly doing enough to secure his spot full a full season.
Rowe averaged 5.97 points for Poole in 2023, whilst contributing on average 4.62 points in his rides for the Stars.
It was announced in October that Rowe would not be returning to Wimborne Road for the 2024 Championship season, with Poole having to reduce their combined average in order to meet the new limit of 38 points.
The 21-year-old also competed for Rzeszów in the Polish third tier.
Stars manager Rob Lyon commented: “Anders had some terrific meetings at King’s Lynn towards the end of the year, and I really see him as a rider who has a future in the sport.
“I think it gives us a solid start at reserve and as long as he can have an injury-free season I think he’ll be fine, and he’ll contribute greatly to our performances.”
