ASTON Villa boss Unai Emery stated he was “really happy” as his side came from behind twice to draw with Cherries.
Cherries had taken the lead twice at Dean Court on Sunday afternoon, Antoine Semenyo’s opener cancelled out by Leon Bailey in the first half before Dominic Solanke’s second-half strike was matched by Ollie Watkins in the final minute.
The Villans are flying under Emery, currently occupying a Champions League berth as they make inroads in Europe’s tertiary competition, the UEFA Conference League.
Speaking after the game, the Basque boss commented: "Really happy. Really tough match and of course it's not the best result, but it's not the worst.
“In the first half we started very well but they scored and it was a difficult moment. We reacted very well and drew.
"We had chances and so did they. VAR refused one goal from us and in the second half we started with the same resilience and started to impose progressively some tactical work we did before.
"They scored and it was more difficult, but again. In the end it was brilliant how we are trying to be consistent in 90 minutes and never give and up and be in the match. It’s a very good point for us and we have to accept it."
"It’s a good point, a very good point."
