PUNDITS have heaped praise on Cherries after their stunning 3-0 victory against Manchester United.

Goals from Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi secured victory for Andoni Iraola’s men, the first time the club have emerged triumphant at Old Trafford.

It could have been even worse for United, Dango Ouattara seeing a late goal ruled out by VAR due to handball.

Speaking in his role as pundit on BBC’s Match of the Day, former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright said of Cherries’ performance against Erik ten Hag’s men: “He (Ten Hag) said they didn’t start with the right focus and that is maybe a lack of respect maybe for Bournemouth and what Bournemouth are doing right now.

“Defensively, midfield and up front, there was only one team with a plan and it was Bournemouth.

“The plan was to put them under pressure.

“(Lewis) Cook was magnificent, alongside (Ryan) Christie.

“The blocking, defensively they were fantastic.

“The only problem was were they going to be able to keep it up. And yes they could.

“But for a ridiculous law, I don’t even know where it’s touched his hand, he (Ouattara) doesn’t get a goal which they richly deserved.

“That was as good an away performance as you’ll see this season.”

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas added: “The big thing with it as well is you could see with Iraola, he had a plan.

“If you look at Iraola’s start to the season with Bournemouth, it was a tough one.

“They suffered and didn’t get the results they wanted.

“It’s taken time, but he has slowly implemented his style onto Bournemouth and it’s now all coming to fruition.

“You know how Bournemouth are going to play now.”
