POOLE Town’s fourth encounter of the season with Bracknell Town ended all square up in Berkshire.

After Liam Tack had given the hosts the lead on the stroke of half-time, Poole responded in the second period via Toby Holmes to ensure the spoils were shared.

Poole had won the first league meeting between the two sides at Tatnam Farm back in August, only to be knocked out of the FA Cup and FA Trophy by Bracknell at Bottom Meadow.

Dolphins manager Matt Tubbs was left with a threadbare squad following injuries, having to make three changes to the side that started the abandoned fixture with Winchester City two weeks ago.

Goalkeeper Lloyd Thomas replaced Max Evans in between the sticks, whilst midfield duo Wes Fogden and Billy Lowes had to be swapped for Frankie Monk and Luke Nippard.

Light on the ground in terms of numbers, Tubbs resorted to naming himself as one of just three substitutes, new signing Kaya Tshaka joining him.

Early on Dolphins felt they should have had a chance to open scores from the penalty spot when Toby Holmes was felled inside the area by Bracknell keeper Simon Grant.

However, match official Dennis Miranda was unmoved by the appeals.

In a tight first-half with little goalmouth action, it would be Bracknell who would find the opener.

A well-worked move saw the hosts fashion an opportunity for Tack to calmly slot past Thomas and give the Robins the lead.

Poole started brightly after the break, but their search for an equaliser was aided by the dismissal of Bracknell’s Kameron English for a heavy challenge on Jamie Whisken.

Just two minutes after the red card, Poole had found their goal.

On the hour mark Declan Rose found Holmes inside the box to nod home and level scores.

In the dying stages, Lee was cautioned for simulation as Poole hunted for a winner.

Deep in added time Dolphins must have thought they had a winner when Frankie Monk let fly with the last kick of the game, the Weymouth loanee striking the post rather than finding the back of the net.

Poole remain ninth in the Southern Premier South League table, level on points but a position higher than Bracknell.
