ANDONI Iraola thanked Dominic Solanke for getting Cherries out of “trouble” against 10-man Nottingham Forest in their 3-2 win.

A topsy-turvy encounter at the City Ground was decided by Solanke’s second-half treble, his hat-trick enough to see of Forest’s two goals from Anthony Elanga and Chris Wood.

All of the goals were consigned to the second period, after a controversial first 45 saw Forest reduced to 10 men and denied a penalty.

Willy Boly picked up two yellows, but it was the second that caused consternation amongst the Forest faithful.

The defender lunged to win the ball from Adam Smith, Boly clearly getting the ball before his man.

However, referee Rob Jones did not agree, and sent the Frenchman down the tunnel.

10-men Forest took the lead to give Cherries a scare, before equalising with 15 minutes to go after Solanke’s brace.

However, Cherries’ talisman Solanke was not finished, popping up to nod home the winner in added time.

Asked for his thoughts after the game, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “Now, I feel happy, but today's game, it was changing all the time, moments that we were struggling, especially after the mistake we made in the first goal.

“The game looked like we had it quite controlled, then we get in trouble again after the set piece.

“And when the game was ending luckily for us, Dom Solanke has scored an amazing goal.”
