ANDONI Iraola refused to speculate over the future of David Brooks, with Championship promotion-chasers Leeds United and Southampton both linked with a move for the Cherries man.

Brooks has found game-time hard to come by in recent weeks under Iraola.

After an impressive pre-season, the Wales international started on the opening day of the Premier League campaign.

But he has been named in the starting XI in the top flight just once since, although has been in the matchday squad for every fixture so far.

In league and cup, the 26-year-old has made 14 appearances, totalling 404 minutes, providing two goals and an assist.

But with the January transfer window about to open, Brooks has been linked with a loan move away to the second tier.

Asked about the speculation surrounding Brooks, Cherries’ head coach Iraola said: “It is not about one individual situation. It’s a matter sometimes of what they think.

“David the other day came on and played very good minutes.

“Some players probably are not getting the minutes they want.

“They have to discuss with the club and take the best possible option for everyone.

“Sometimes one will leave, because all think it is the best thing. Sometimes they will stay.

“But right now, before the market opens, I cannot and I will not speak about individual situations.”
