TOTTENHAM Hotspur boss Ange Postecogou described as “very pleasing” his side’s 3-1 victory over Cherries.

Despite having half the number of shots as their guests, a clinical Spurs found themselves 3-0 up thanks to contributions from Pape Matar Sarr, Heung-Min Son, and Richarlison, before Alex Scott’s late consolation.

The Australian manager labelled Cherries “probably the most in-form side” in the Premier League as he heaped praise on his side.

Asked for his thoughts on the game, Postecoglou shared: “It's very pleasing. There was a bit of everything, and we needed a bit of everything.

“Some of our football was good, we had to show some resilience and character, again a massive physical effort.

“I said in the week that these players had given everything, the ones who were available. “We're not stumbling due to a lack of effort, that's for sure, against a side that is probably the most in-form side in the competition, two days less rest after a really big physical load against Brighton.

“The way these players keep giving maximum effort is a credit to them.”

Victory over Cherries leaves Spurs a point behind arch-rivals Arsenal in the final Champions League spot of fourth.

In comparison, Cherries now sit 12th heading into the new year, with 25 points from 19 games.
