CHERRIES will wear black armbands for this afternoon’s match against Liverpool, in support of Jaidon Anthony.
It was announced this morning the 24-year-old’s mother, Donna, has recently passed away.
Anthony, who is currently out on loan at Leeds United, joined Cherries’ academy in 2016.
A statement from Cherries read: “We were devastated to learn of the untimely passing of Jaidon Anthony’s mother earlier this week.
"Donna was known and loved by many staff and players at AFC Bournemouth.
“As a mark of respect, we will be wearing black armbands during today’s match against Liverpool.
“Our thoughts are with Jaidon and his family during this difficult time, and we ask that their privacy is respected.”
Leeds, who play Preston North End in the Championship today, are also wearing black armbands.
Cherries face Liverpool at Vitality Stadium this afternoon (4.30pm), the game being televised live on Sky Sports.
