ANDONI Iraola admits he could not find a “good moment” to give Hamed Traore a chance this season, adding: “You can’t give the minutes to everyone.”
Traore left Cherries on loan this month, to join Italian outfit Napoli on a deal until the end of the season.
The Serie A club have an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
Traore, who joined Cherries from Sassuolo last January, made just six appearances, mainly as a substitute, since Iraola’s arrival in the summer.
He was recently ruled unavailable having contracted malaria in November.
Asked if the 23-year-old simply did not fit into his tactical system, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “He is one of the players we haven’t found the good combinations of players around him, or a good moment to put him in the starting XI.
“But we know he is good. We know he has the level.
“He has, especially lately, had some health issues that makes it worse for his chances.
“But it is true also that we also haven’t given him the chance to have a run of games, starting and improving and making the mistakes the other players have been allowed to make.
“But these are decisions you have to take and you can’t give the minutes to everyone.”
