ANDONI Iraola was “happy” with Romain Faivre’s debut performance for Cherries, believing the Frenchman showed “strong personality” at London Stadium.

Faivre, recalled from a loan spell at Lorient during the week, came on on the right wing for the closing stages of the 1-1 draw with West Ham United.

He showed some good touches and was also booked for kicking the ball away after a free-kick was awarded.

Asked for his assessment of the 25-year-old’s performance, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “I think he showed a strong personality, because he played 8-10 minutes.

“He asked for the ball, he wanted to get involved, he wanted to make things happen.

“Obviously he helped with the defensive side.

“Normally when you make your debut, you don’t want to make mistakes.

“But no, he asked for the ball. He wanted to make some plays.

“I am happy with the minutes he played.”
