DORSET star Scott Mitchell has been drawn to face debutant Matt Clark in the opening round of the World Seniors Darts Championship.
‘Superman’ booked his place in the event at the Circus Tavern by winning the final qualifier on Monday.
And his reward is a showdown with 2015 BDO world champion Mitchell, who is seeded 11 for the tournament.
It is the second year Scotty Dog will take to the stage in this event. In 2023 he beat Peter Manley, before losing to eventual winner Robert Thornton.
Clark, 55, made his move towards professional darts in the 1990s, going on to have a 14-year stint in the PDC.
In that spell he notably reached the World Matchplay quarter-finals in 2008 and qualified for six World Championships.
His match with Mitchell will kick off the whole event in Purfleet, due to take place at 1pm on Thursday, February 15.
