HIBERNIAN boss Nick Montgomery would like for Cherries defender Owen Bevan to return to club next season after injury curtailed the youngster’s spell on loan at Easter Road.
It was announced on Friday that Bevan would return to Cherries after a set-back in the Welsh under-21s international’s recovery from a thigh injury sustained whilst on a previous loan at League One Cheltenham Town.
According to the Edinburgh Evening News, Bevan will be out for a further eight weeks.
Whilst Hibs signed Bevan on a six-month loan knowing that the defender was rehabbing from injury, the centre-back was unable to make an appearance during his spell north of the border.
However, Montgomery would be open to Bevan returning in the summer.
He commented: “He’s a player we’re definitely keen on bringing to the club.
“So we’ll just monitor that situation.
“Hopefully he can get himself fit from that injury towards the end of the season.
"We’ll definitely keep an eye on that situation.”
In the January transfer window, Hibs did multiple deals with Cherries, Bevan joining Emi Marcondes (loan) and Nathan Moriah-Welsh (permanent) in the Scottish capital.
Cherries’ owner Bill Foley is set to have his minority investment in Hibs confirmed by shareholders in the coming weeks.
