CHERRIES boss Andoni Iraola was pleased to have talisman Dominic Solanke leading the line against Burnley, even if the striker was missing some “sharpness".

Top goalscorer Solanke was conspicuously absent during Cherries’ FA Cup exit at home to Championship leaders Leicester City in midweek, with fears that a knee issue could keep him out of the eventual 2-0 victory over Burnley.

Solanke played 89 minutes of Sunday’s encounter, before being replaced by Enes Unal – who was also a doubt for inclusion, after coming off against Leicester with a clavicle concern.

It appears that the concern over Solanke’s availability has now subsided, with Iraola backing the forward to back at his best with more training under his belt.

Asked if Solanke had come through the match unscathed, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “We took the decision (Saturday) after the training.

“He felt much better. I think he was missing some sharpness, because he hasn't trained.

“When you miss three or four days of training during the week, probably you don't feel so sharp.

“For me it is good that we could put Dom, we could put even Enes (in the squad) because after the Leicester's game we were thinking probably we don't have either of them.

“They made a good effort and I think they both contributed.”
