ANDONI Iraola believes the half-time introduction of Alex Scott at Turf Moor gave Cherries “more legs in the middle” as Ryan Christie struggled after illness.
Christie started as usual alongside Lewis Cook in the centre of midfield for Cherries’ Premier League trip to Burnley.
But the Scot was substituted at the break and replaced by Scott.
Boss Iraola confirmed illness was a contributing factor to Christie’s withdrawal, feeling his side improved in the second period.
“Ryan wasn’t feeling 100 per cent, because he has been ill and he was lacking some energy,” Iraola told the Daily Echo.
“When we put Alex Scott on in the second half, I think we had more legs in the middle.
“We could deal with everything much, much better.”
Cherries won the game 2-0 with goals from Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo.
