CHERRIES boss Andoni Iraola admitted that he feared a repeat of his side having to pay for missed chances during their 2-0 win away at Burnley.

Despite only having 25 per cent of possession at Turf Moor, Cherries showed a clinical nature through Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo efforts.

In recent weeks, Iraola had bemoaned the fact Cherries’ efforts between both boxes have been let down by their performances inside the penalty area.

Asked if he felt the reverse was true at Burnley, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “In the end, this is what makes the difference in the games.

“We were much better in most of the last games we didn’t win, but (against Burnley) we took our chances.

“There was a moment in the second half where we missed a couple with Dom Solanke and Antoine Semenyo, so I was thinking maybe it happens again, we are 1-0 up, we don’t close it and in the end we lose two points.

“This has happened recently in some games.

“But we could finish with a clean sheet.”

Cherries return to action this weekend, when they host the Premier League’s bottom side, Sheffield United, at Vitality Stadium on Saturday, March 9 (3pm).
