LUTON Town boss Rob Edwards issued an injury update ahead of his side’s trip to Cherries on Wednesday night (7.30pm).

Cherries welcome the Hatters back to the south coast for a second time this campaign, the first meeting between the two teams at Dean Court abandoned following Tom Lockyer’s cardiac arrest.

Defensive duo Teden Mengi and Gabe Osho both limped off at the weekend as the Hatters salvaged a late draw at Selhurst Park, with Edwards hopeful of having the former available at Vitality Stadium.

Edwards started: “Teden (Mengi) should be ok but Gabe (Osho) is unavailable, will have to see how it is going forward.”

Luton’s star turn Ross Barkley suffered a broken nose during Luton’s 1-1 draw away at Crystal Palace last time out, but the midfielder is set to feature at Vitality Stadium tomorrow evening.

Edwards continued: “Ross’ nose is alright, it’s broken, but he will have to deal with it and not play with a mask.

"He was given an option to but chose not to.

Luton will be without Amari’I Bell after he underwent hamstring surgery, whilst Sambi Lokonga and Elijah Adebayo are also absent.

Lockyer is still sidelined following surgery to fit an ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator), whilst fellow defenders Dan Potts and Mads Andersen are in the treatment room as well.

Despite the lengthy injury list, Edwards is confident his side will take it in their strides.

“We’re up against it with a lot of difficulties at the moment but we won’t let it knock us,” continued the Welshman.

“We are replaying this game because of a serious situation that we had to go through.

“It will make us stronger and off the back of Saturday’s result.

“Hopefully build on it and put more points on the board.”
