CHERRIES are not yet in a position where they can consider giving opportunities to their young talents, according to head coach Andoni Iraola.
With 35 points from 28 games, Cherries are sitting comfortably in the Premier League table in 13th.
Following Nottingham Forest’s deduction of four points, Cherries are now 14 points clear of the final relegation spot with 10 games to go.
However, Iraola does not believe that Cherries are able to start thinking about next season, stating that “every point” and “every detail” was valuable in the Premier League.
Asked if he was considering handing Premier League minutes to Cherries’ youngsters, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “I will put the strongest team that I think.
“Sometimes it will be with the young players, sometimes with experienced ones.
“But this is the Premier League - I was going to say every point you get is very valuable - every corner you have is very valuable.
“Every small detail is very valuable.
“Everyone has to earn.
“It's not easy to play in the Premier League, to have minutes. And it has to be like this.”
The Basque boss continued: “We are not in a situation where we can think in next season.
“We are still not there.
“I hope we are there in one moment of the season, but we are not there.
“We still need more points and we need to win games.
“And if that part of the season, when everything is said and done and still have things to play, we can consider, but we are not there.
“I hope you can ask me this in some weeks!”
Cherries return to action after the international break with a home clash against Everton.
Iraola’s side welcome Sean Dyche’s Toffees to Vitality Stadium on Saturday, March 30.
