CHERRIES again have a host of players heading away to represent their countries this month, across a variety of competitions.
In Europe, the big focus is on the play-offs to qualify for this summer’s European Championship in Germany.
Wales face a huge clash against Finland in Cardiff on Thursday (7.45pm). Victory there would set up a home showdown against either Poland or Estonia on March 26, with the winners progressing to the tournament finals.
Cherries centre-back Chris Mepham is again part of the squad, as are David Brooks and Kieffer Moore, who are currently out on loan at Southampton and Ipswich Town respectively.
It is a similar story for Illia Zabarnyi and Ukraine.
They too are two games away from reaching the Euros, needing to beat Bosnia and Herzegovina in Zenica on Thursday (7.45pm). The winners will then take on either Israel or Iceland on March 26.
Scotland have already qualified for the summer tournament and have two friendlies. They go to the Netherlands on Friday, before hosting Northern Ireland on March 26 (both 7.45pm).
Ryan Christie will be looking to add to his 45 international caps.
Hungary, also already assured of a place at Euro 2024, have home fixtures against Turkey on Friday (7.45pm), before hosting Kosovo on March 26 (6pm).
Milos Kerkez is part of the squad and could face Cherries teammate Enes Unal, who has linked up with Turkey.
After going to Hungary, Unal will look to get minutes in a friendly away to Austria on March 26 (7.45pm).
Mark Travers is one of three goalkeepers in the Republic of Ireland squad for home friendlies against Belgium on Saturday (5pm) and Switzerland on March 26 (7.45pm), under interim head coach John O’Shea.
Midfielder Alex Scott has received his first call-up to the England under-21s.
Lee Carsley’s side continue their Euro 2025 qualifying campaign away to Azerbaijan on Friday (12pm), before hosting Luxembourg at Bolton Wanderers’ Toughsheet Community Stadium on March 26 (7pm).
Further afield, Tyler Adams has returned to duty with the USA for the conclusion of their CONCACAF Nations League campaign.
USA face Jamaica in the semi-finals in Texas on Thursday (11pm), with the winners going through to take on either Panama or Mexico in Monday’s final.
Part of the Jamaica squad is Cherries striker Jamal Lowe, who is currently out on loan at Swansea City and scored in the south Wales derby win over Cardiff City at the weekend.
In Africa, Antoine Semenyo is part of new coach Otto Addo’s Ghana squad for friendlies against Nigeria on Friday (3pm) and Uganda on March 26 (4pm). Both matches will be played in Marrakech.
On the same days as Semenyo is in action, Dango Ouattara is in the Burkina Faso squad for friendlies against Libya and Niger.
Marcos Senesi and Luis Sinisterra was forced to withdraw from the Argentina and Colombia squads respectively due to hamstring injuries.
Despite both Ederson and Alisson being ruled out through injury, there was no recall to the Brazil set-up for Neto, who instead have named three uncapped goalkeepers in their squad.
Andrei Radu was not included this time by Romania, Philip Billing and Justin Kluivert were again overlooked by Denmark and Netherlands respectively, while Dominic Solanke did not make the cut for England.
