AFC Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is very aware of Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund, labelling the Dane “very, very dangerous”.
Cherries welcome Manchester United to Vitality Stadium this evening (5.30pm) as they start their Premier League run-in.
Iraola has already led Cherries to victory over Manchester United this campaign, blowing the Red Devils away as they won 3-0 at Old Trafford in December.
At the time of the victory, Hojlund had not opened his Premier League account, but the former Atalanta striker came into his own towards the end of 2023.
Prior to a muscle injury at the end of February, the 21-year-old had scored in five consecutive Premier League games.
Across all competitions Hojlund now has 13 strikes from 34 games in his debut season in England.
Discussing the forward, Iraola shared: “He is very, very dangerous. I think he’s a number nine who plays very well facing his goal because he's physical enough to pin the centre backs and then set up the teammates.
“He is very good also because he's very fast attacking the spaces.
“(He has a) very good strike, very good left foot.
“But they have all the forwards are really good because (Alejandro) Garnacho is making the difference almost every game.
“Whoever they decide to play the other side, Bruno (Fernandes), I think, will have difficult duels.
“But we've shown that we've done it in other games and I hope we are ready to do it again.”
It will not be Hojlund’s first visit to Vitality Stadium. The Dane was part of the Atalanta side that travelled from Italy to the south coast of England for a pre-season friendly last summer.
Atalanta ran out 3-1 winners at Vitality Stadium, but Hojlund was omitted from the squad at the last minute after Manchester United made a formal bid for his services.
The Red Devils reportedly paid an initial £64million for the Dane.
