DORSET darts star Scott Mitchell was named man of the tournament as he captained England to victory in the 43rd edition of the WDF Tri Nations.
Mitchell, who captained the men’s team, became just the seventh player to earn a 50th cap for England, marking it with a 4-3 win over John Williams-Jones, but that was not enough to prevent an overall 7-5 loss to team Wales on day one.
Needing a big win over hosts Scotland to seal the title, England stormed to a 10-2 success, Mitchell playing a starring role with a 101.90 average in thrashing Nicky Denoon 4-0.
Swanage ace Ricky King had a standout 146 checkout in his win.
Meanwhile, Mitchell and King's Dorset teammate Sam Kirton helped the England ladies also seal glory.
