RYAN Garry wants to help Cherries wipe out their points deduction as quickly as possible - and he doesn't matter how they meet that objective.

The defender, who is rated 50-50 for the trip to Aldershot Town this afternoon after sustaining a hip injury in training yesterday, believes results are far more important than performances, given the club's situation.

"We've got to try to get as many points as we can as soon as we can - I think that's most important," the former Arsenal trainee told the Daily Echo.

"Rather than how we play, we've just got to look to get our points - that's why Gillingham on Satur-day was a bit of a disappointment.

"As much as we didn't play well, we were in front and two minutes away from getting three points. But we've got to move on and hopefully we can get three points today."

Garry is battling for a place in Cherries' back four and he believes the strength of the squad should lift standards.

He said: "I think the manager will be pleased with the shape of squad we've got this season because there's a lot of competition for places and that's what you want.

"It's an all-round better situation to have more bodies for training purposes and actual competition in games because everyone has to raise their bar to impress the manager and coaches to get in the first XI."

Looking ahead to this afternoon's League Two clash in Hampshire, Garry added: "I'm expecting a hard game, as is everyone.

"I know a lot of people said this is almost like our derby for this league. The players and fans are looking forward to it."
