PACEMAKERS West Moors appeared to have been dazzled by the rare sunshine, going down on both rinks at Braeside (65-22) in their A Division encounter.
A mammoth (40-9) by Pat Shepherd's rink sealed West Moors' fate.
Richmond Park and South-bourne took advantage of the situation winning their away fixtures.
Julie Saunders, Sue Dillon, Linda Johnson and Eileen Deadman (26-12) ensured Park picked up four points at Broadstone. Meanwhile Barbara Lunnon (24-13) and Sue Dadson (20-18) steered Southbourne to a maximum at Iford Bridge.
Wimborne's Pat Gallup, Maggie Wilkins, Elaine Cambell and Terry Hilbourne (31-12) have not given up hope. The bottom-club chalked up a rare 4-2 victory (43-37) which resulted in visitors Ferndown being drawn into a relegation spot.
B DIVISION
Leaders New Milton suffered a home defeat to Argyll (32-40) with Jo Shaw, Annette Chant, Peggy Budd and Joan Halliwell (27-17) inspiring the visitors.
New Milton skip Sheila Nicoll's rink (15-13) earned two points for the hosts.
Poole Park are now just one point off the pace after a comfortable 4-2 (37-28) victory over basement-club Swanmore. Their saviours were Penny Cresswell's rink who romped in (22-9).
Olive Freeman's rink shone (31-13) as West Moors cruised to a six-pointer over lowly Bournemouth (54-33).
Skips Brenda Streater (24-7) and Jill Bryant (23-16) sustained Richmond Park's late promotion challenge with a two rink win over Ringwood (47-23).
Braeside's Molly Shutler, meanwhile, spurred her rink on to a (25-14) win covering Pelhams winning quartet (22-15).
In a rescheduled match on Friday, Swanmore upset the form book collecting maximum points with a win over West Moors (44-30).
C DIVISION
After five successive defeats Nora Morgan, Jean Gatrill, Joyce Munday and Joan Webb (25-17) secured Argyll's 4-2 win over promotion hopefuls Lymington (45-38).
The two points salvaged by Lymington moved them above near neighbours Brockenhurst, who returned from Fordingbridge with no points after going down (38-26).
Skips Jacqui Norman (23-20) and Maureen Taylor (18-17) kept Southbourne ahead of the chasing group after collecting six points in a close fought match with Christchurch (41-37).
Valerie Snook's foursome (22-11), backed up by Betty Blunden's last-end winning shot (15-14), gathered maximum points for Highcliffe at Verwood.
Milford-on-Sea, meanwhile, look to be heading for the drop despite winning 4-2 (44-39) at home to Broadstone.
D DIVISION
Promotion favourites Kings Park now lead third-placed Alexandra Park by 12 points after a 4-2 home victory. Alex's winning rink (19-13) failed to cover the hosts' top rink (21-12) of Jean Tricksey, Maureen Smith, Pauline Harris and Beryl Nuttall.
New Milton, meanwhile, retain second place despite losing 2-4 (36-37) at Redhill Park.
Park's Bobbie Saunders reduced the deficit on the last end to win the match.
Kings Park's promotion aspirations took a serious knock after losing 2-4 (37-45) at Pelhams.
Bournemouth remain at the foot of the table despite a 4-2 (35-31) victory over visitors Pelhams while Swanmore moved away from the relegation zone after a six points haul at Moordown (50-26).
E DIVISION
There was another reversal of form as lowly Lymington crept home (34-33) against leaders Branksome Park.
Lymington took the four points with a one-shot success on the last end.
Branksome, however, remain 15 points clear of their rivals.
Just five points separate the next five teams, headed by Braeside, who comfortably gathered all six points at home against Wimborne (55-31).
Host skips Janet Beard (30-19) and Sheila Harris (25-12) directed operations against the Minster Ladies.
Richmond Park, meanwhile, sustained their promotion challenge with a narrow win over Shelley Park (47-45).
Shelley's Sue Perkin's rink just failing to cover Richmond's quartet (29-17) led by Marie Crone.
Highcliffe suffered a 6-0 home defeat to Southbourne, as the Tower Maidens were guided home by Joan Courtney (22-14) and Yvonne Hoskin (20-18).
The mid-table clash at West Moors resulted in visitors Iford Bridge losing out 4-2. Barbara Tite's quartet (35-6) proved decisive for the hosts.
F DIVISION
Leaders Broadstone and Poole Park both recorded 4-2 victories.
Broadstone overcame stubborn resistance at Ferndown, scraping through (39-38) while Poole Park cruised to a (54-33) win against Braeside thanks mainly to Rosemary Stainer, Pat Basham, Muriel Coombes and Gwyn Foord (35-13).
New Milton I showed no favours to their fellow members, when inflicting a 6-0 (37-31) defeat on New Milton II, who are now just one place above the drop.
The basement battle resulted in Argyll grabbing all six points at Redhill Park.
The West Cliff victory was orchestrated by skips Mary Burrell-Davis (24-12) and Emmy Drinkwater (20-17).
West Moors, however, remain in the comfort zone, returning from Christchurch with four points after their (47-40) win.
G DIVISION
Moordown have surged into a nine-point lead over early season trailblazers Richmond Park. Superiority was confirmed when Moordown won on both rinks at Richmond, final score being (37-30).
At the other end of the table Milford-on-Sea edged out Ringwood (36-34) with the Foresters only collecting two points.
Branksome Park remain in third spot after losing 4-2 to visitors Poole Park (47-31).
