LEE Bradbury has praised the impact made by Cherries' new recruits, but the veteran utility man still believes further additions are needed to bolster the club's "thin" squad.
Bradbury, a forward by trade who has also been used as a right-back and midfielder by Cherries, thinks on-loan keeper Shwan Jalal has been excellent since joining the Dean Court ranks from Peterborough.
The former Portsmouth star has also been impressed with central defender Scott Guyett and creative midfielder Sammy Igoe, both of whom were snapped up during the summer.
"Shwan has come in and done well," ex-Manchester City striker Bradbury told the Daily Echo.
"He's made some great saves and started really well.
"If we can keep him (beyond the month's loan deal) it would be great. Prycey has done great but he's still a young lad.
"Scott Guyett is a good presence in defence. He's a big lad, is commanding and wins a lot in the air. I don't think many people will win headers against him.
"Sammy has settled in well and he's always a threat to other teams. He can play people in. All three new signings have done well."
Despite Cherries' captures impressing Bradbury in their short time on the south coast, he would like to see more new faces.
He said: "Compared to the average squad, I'd say we're still thin. We've got three first-year professionals in our squad and only need a couple of injuries and we're struggling, so we do need a few more I'd have thought.
"You're always going to pick up injuries and suspensions, so the squad wants strengthening from the gaffer's point of view."
Bradbury is likely to start in defence tomorrow when Cherries host Exeter City, looking for their first win of the League Two campaign.
The 33-year-old has fond memories of Exeter, having scored five league goals for the club during a loan spell there in 1995 when he was beginning his professional career with Pompey.
But he is hoping to get one over on the Devon club tomorrow.
"The sooner we get a win under our belt the better for us really," he said.
"We should maybe have had a win up at Aldershot. But we haven't lost yet and are looking to get a win against Exeter at home."
On life in the Football League's basement division, Bradbury added: "I've played in it before but it's a tough league.
"People think you'll go straight back up, but it's hard and you've got to be able to battle and win the rights to knock the ball around.
"It's not easy against teams that get in your face, but you've got to be strong. If you do that first, hopefully the better football will shine through."
