LEADERS West Moors notched up their 10th win of the season by outgunning visitors Iford Bridge 4-2 (50-28). The hosts' rink of Dot Eason, Val Baxter, Judith Miles and Janet Price (33-7) outpointed Renee Stanger's 21-7-winning rink for the Bridge.
Richmond Park retained second spot after a solid 5-1 (43-28) success over Southbourne. Ann Ankers, Sue Dillon, Linda Johnson and Eileen Deadman (26-11) proved to be Richmond's match winners.
Braeside retained an outside chance of the title when winning 4-2 (39-36) at Redhill Park.
Broadstone climbed to fifth after collecting a maximum haul over relegation favourites Wimborne. Broadstone skips Anne Williams (23-17) and Lyn Howard (23-14) supervised the victory over the Minster ladies.
Ferndown, thanks to Barbara Brown's quartet (22-12), collected a valuable 4-2 victory over visitors Lymington.
B DIVISION
THERE was a topsy-turvy result when bottom club Bournemouth secured a two-rink victory over divisional leaders New Milton.
Bournemouth Belles Beryl Sadler, Lucille Lemel, Sue Speight and Kris Saunders (22-13) along with Joan Belcher's rink (24-22) ensured a fruitless trip for the Forest side.
It turned out to be a bad day for the top three as Poole Park and West Moors also suffered 6-0 defeats.
Poole Park went down 49-33 at Braeside while West Moors lost 47-20 at Pelhams thanks to a 23-8 humdinger from Mary Watts, Anne Barber, Beth Roberts and Mollie Lindsay for the Kinson club.
Inspiration by Brenda Streater (24-18) and Jill Bryant (25-19) pushed Richmond Park into the promotion race after gaining maximum points at Argyll.
The West Cliff club now find themselves involved in a relegation battle with Bournemouth and Swanmore. The latter enjoying a 5-1 success at Ringwood (43-37). The foundation for the victory was laid by Jenny Brown, Mary Jones, Jill Griffiths and Rosemary Lester (21-15). Jenny Osborne's squad just missed out on full points when drawing 22-22.
C DIVISION
BROCKENHURST regained top spot ion the division with a home win over Milford-on-Sea.
Brock's Maureen Ansty, Doreen Cummins, Doreen Risso and Dian Place (34-8) went ballistic over the last seven ends when collecting 19 shots without reply. Jean Lee's rink (29-13) sealed the six points.
Meanwhile, Lymington maintained their promotion challenge with a solid 4-2 victory over Fordingbridge (45-31).
Highcliffe moved into third place as Shirley Ambrose, Valerie McCall, Thelma Richardson and Valerie Snook (26-10) put the Castle team in the driving seat over West Cliff visitors Argyll 5-1 (45-29).
Southbourne remain level on points with Highcliffe after collecting four points in a 41-35 win over visitors Verwood.
It was six appeal for Christchurch as Rosemary Shepherd's quartet (20-15) and a last-end winner from Marilyn Weigh's rink (20-19) guaranteed C Division status for the Priory ladies next season following their 40-34 (6-0) win over Broadstone.
D DIVISION
IT'S status quo as every team remained in the same place as at the start of the day.
Kings Park stretched their lead with an away win at second-placed New Milton. Anne Hill, Maureen Smith, Pauline Harris and Beryl Nuttall (32-10) easily covered the host's winning rink (18-15).
Alexandra Park closed on the leaders with a maximum pick-up against Bournemouth (59-31). The Alex heroines were Jenny Cutler, Janet Ogden, Jenny Chalk and Gina McGregor (32-15) who were strongly supported by Deirdre Owen's rink (27-16).
Kings Park's winning rink (23-9), skipped by Brenda Lewis, failed to cover the Pelhams winning rink, skipped by Val Charig (23-7), which allowed the Kinson-based ladies to return home with a 4-2 victory. While the Pelhams A team won, the second string lost 4-2 to Moordown (33-42).
Redhill Park had a splendid 6-0 win at Swanmore (32-28) thanks to guidance from Sylvia Wood (17-15) and Chris Smith (15-13).
E DIVISION
BRANKSOME Park require just three points from their last three matches to become divisional champions. Branksome decimated nearest rivals Braeside (58-26).
Rosemary Staddon, Helen Elmiger, Val King and Lola Barker (34-12) pressed the destruct button while Carol Williams's rink (24-14) tidied up for the champions elect.
Richmond Park, Highcliffe and Iford Bridge all leapfrogged above Braeside after recording 6-0 victories.
Richmond skips Marie Crone (19-16) and Pam Harrison (21-16) repelled visiting Southbourne (40-32) while Highcliffe polished off bottom club Wimborne (58-26). Iford Bridge easily accounted for visiting Lymington (49-26).
Rose Kirby, Pauline Jepson, Elaine Hunt and Val Burton (27-19) assured West Moors of a 4-2 success at Shelley Park when outscoring Sue Perkins's quartet (17-13).
F DIVISION
TRAIL-blazing Broadstone held on to top position by collecting four points after a close match at Braeside (38-34). Second-placed Poole Park closed the gap to a point after collecting a maximum against Redhill Park (58-25).
The Lakesiders' rinks of Rosemary Stainer, Pat Basham, Mutiel Coombes and Gwyn Foord (31-14) and Barbara Gladwyn, Pam Smith, Phyl Wallis and Joyce McIndoe (27-11) ensured an eight-point lead over third-placed New Milton.
Meanwhile, New Milton A racked up a huge 6-0 (47-18) victory at Argyll, a result that makes relegation seem like a certainty for the West Cliff team. New Milton's second string eased away from the drop zone with a comfortable 4-2 victory over Christchurch (39-29).
The mid-table clash between hosts West Moors and Ferndown ended in a home win. Jill Archer's 20-18 rink win was enough to ensure the four points. Shirley Sadlers' quartet went down 16-15 on the last end to the Ferndown rink skipped by Ann Wrightson.
G DIVISION
LEADERS Moordown suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of visitors Swanmore (34-38) for whom Val Honan, Doreen Durnford and Isobel Barr (25-11) claimed top honours.
Early season leaders Richmond Park rediscovered the winning formula when collecting the full six points at Poole Park (48-29) where the Richmond team, skipped by Carol Gariano (25-14) and Jean Sharp (23-15), were always in control.
Hard fought wins for Branksome Park skips Carol Bryant (22-18) and Hilary Jenkins (19-17) left hosts Milford-on-Sea without any points.
