POOLE Pirates’ BSN Series clash against Plymouth Gladiators has again been postponed due to the weather.
Originally scheduled to take place in April, the two were finally set to do battle at Wimborne Road tonight.
However, the rain has again ruined the plans. Instead, the crucial fixture has now been swiftly rearranged, to take place this Friday (7.30pm).
The reverse fixture, at the Coliseum, is still scheduled for Saturday night (7pm).
Pirates promoter Danny Ford said: “The weather has conspired against us once again with yellow warnings in place and rain throughout the day.
“We have moved swiftly to rearrange the fixture for Friday as we are keen to get our group matches completed as soon as possible, so that the competition can progress to the semi-final stages, of which we are determined to be part of.
"Although Fridays are not a regular race-night for us, we are hoping that we can still attract a good, enthusiastic crowd and with, generally, no school on Saturday, those levels may be increased, especially with our 'kids go free' offer."
Poole and Plymouth are currently locked on three points apiece in their BSN southern group after two fixtures, knowing the outcome of this week’s meetings will determine who progresses into the last four.
