TWO members of Poole Pirates’ septet are set to feature in the 2024 British Final next month.
A star-studded field, featuring nine former winners of the event, are set to head to Belle Vue on Saturday, June 8 (7.30pm).
And it has now been confirmed that among the group of 16 riders will be Pirates duo Richard Lawson and Tom Brennan.
While neither have ever won the event, both have finished as runner-up.
Veteran Lawson, 38, was second to Rory Schlein in 2020, while youngster Brennan lost out to Dan Bewley two years later.
Reigning champion Bewley will be in action again, looking to make it a hat-trick of British crowns.
His competition looks tougher this year, with fellow Grand Prix stars Tai Woffinden and Robert Lambert also set to compete.
Former winners Chris Harris, Danny King, Charles Wright, Craig Cook and Adam Ellis are also in the field.
The winner not only takes the title of British champion, but also a wild card spot at the Cardiff Grand Prix.
Former Pirates captain Steve Worrall took that wild card spot last year as runner-up, courtesy of winner Bewley already being in the Grand Prix field.
The full riding order draw will be made on Monday, live on Eurosport.
2024 British Final line-up: Robert Lambert, Tai Woffinden, Dan Bewley, Danny King, Kyle Howarth, Chris Harris, Richard Lawson, Tom Brennan, Charles Wright, Adam Ellis, Steve Worrall, Lewis Kerr, Rory Schlein, Ben Barker, Connor Mountain.
Reserves: Simon Lambert, Drew Kemp.
