DORSET & Wilts are one game away from reaching a final at Twickenham, the home of English rugby.

After one win and one defeat in their Bill Beaumont County Rugby Championship pool, the Twin Counties have progressed as best runners-up.

They began their campaign with a 39-28 win over Berkshire at Swanage & Wareham’s Bestwall ground, Swans flanker Conor Moag scoring a hat-trick of tries.

Bournemouth’s Joe Desmond also crossed the whitewash, as did Jack Adams of Dorchester.

Dorset & Wilts then went away to Devon and were beaten 68-43.

The semi-final line-up has now been confirmed for Division Three, with Dorset & Wilts drawn away to North Midlands this Saturday (3pm). The game will take place at Droitwich Rugby Club.

Team manager Richard Elliott said: "The lads are up for it.

“We have a couple who can't make it for personal reasons, but I am sure that we can field a side who will do the Twin Counties proud.”

North Midlands eased to the semis with 38-7 and 35-17 wins over Notts, Lincs & Derbys and Durham respectively.

The other match-up in the last four sees Devon host Hertfordshire.

The prize on offer for the winners is to run out at Twickenham for the final.
