DIVISION One outfit Bournemouth bring the curtain down on a tough league season at champions Havant tomorrow (1pm).
Craig de Weymarn's side have had a mediocre campaign by their standards - losing star players Darren Cowley and Paul Prichard along the way.
They can still claim the division's 50-over cup with victory tomorrow, but de Weymarn admitted it was the league's time pennant section that really ended Bourne's season.
De Weymarn said: "If you look at our results in the middle of the season, that's what has really put us back a few positions in the league. It's a bit of a learning process and the team is very young.
"When we started to lose a few games, that form of cricket didn't really suit our team. I can't really put my finger on exactly why that is the case, but we all enjoy the 50-over game compared to the all-day stuff. It provides a bit more purpose when you're batting or fielding and you have a few more targets to aim for."
Bourne do still have the Southern League Twenty20 Cup finals day to look forward to next Sunday.
There is no charge for entry to the finals day at the Rose Bowl.
Hot food and licensed bar facilities will be available from 11.30am onwards, when Alton and Bournemouth clash in the first semi-final. Totton & Eling and Portsmouth play out the second semi-final at 2.45pm, with the final at 6.45pm.
Meanwhile, David Payne is unavailable for tomorrow's trip to Havant Park.
