CAMERON Plain, first choice goalkeeper for Cherries’ development squad, will be leaving the club this summer.
The 22-year-old trained regularly with the first team, but never made a senior appearance during his time with the club.
Plain joined Cherries in 2018, spending two years with the under-18s, before moving up to the development squad.
He played his youth football for Winchester City and AFC Bitterne Jaguars.
Part of the squad which reached the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals in 2019, Plain gained experience away on loan in non-league with the likes of Ringwood Town, Bashley and Wimborne Town.
He was on the bench for a string of Premier League matches in 2022-23, following an injury to Neto, which saw Mark Travers brought into the team.
Earlier this season, Plain kept six successive clean sheets for Alan Connell’s development squad.
Taking to Instagram, Plain wrote: “After six years this part of my journey at AFC Bournemouth has come to an end!
“Massive thanks to everyone associated for playing a part in my career so far!
“Met friends for life and made some great memories. Onto the next chapter.”
Plain follows development squad captain Ben Greenwood in announcing his exit this summer.
