CHERRIES legend Charlie Daniels is stepping out of retirement to play for former teammate Steve Cook’s non-league side.
Westfield Football Club announced that they have secured the services of Daniels for the upcoming 2024/25 season, with the left-back set to take to a football field for the first time since 2022.
Currently under-21s boss at Championship outfit Watford, Daniels will be sponsored by Cook, who owns the 11th tier outfit.
Now 37, Daniels made 265 appearances for Cherries over the best part of nine seasons.
Daniels has already combined his coaching duties at Watford with playing, having started working at the Hornets whilst still at Colchester United.
Posting on social media, Westfield shared: “We are excited to announce the signing of Bournemouth legend, Charlie Daniels.
“His experience and ability will be a tremendous asset to Westfield FC in our hunt for promotion in the 24/25 season.”
